An Insight Into Car Detailing Lexington KY

By Joyce Sanders

The first step in car detailing is the basic washing and drying. Many people overlook this step due to their ignorance. This stage should be given a high-level consideration because most of these surface imperfections in most cars develop during this juncture. That is because the surface may be scratched and unsightly water spots are also during car detailing Lexington KY.

Before the cleaning, a pre-wash is done. The water is decalcified and all the other water impurities removed as they cause the water spots to form on the surface. A tube of shampoo is then applied with a light scrub on the surface. It is necessary to remove any grease on its surface. The vehicle is then dried by blowing air till dry. A dry towel is then used.

The clay bar is then used to remove the imperfections on the surface that remain after the regular washing. While applying the clay, the surface becomes very smooth and glassy. However, it should be noted that most of these imperfections it removes are not usually visible to the naked eye. It is recommended to be done twice a year or before polishing a newly added paint spot.

There are two forms in which the clay bar can be bought; either as a quick detailer or a clay lube. A lubricant known as the clay lubricant is poured on this surface of that vehicle to prevent marring of its surface during the subsequent processes. The oil also increases the utility of a clay bar. An optimum mixture rinses off is then used to finish the procedure.

The surfaces are then polished. This stage is arguably the one that has the most dramatic effect on the way the paint looks. The process gets rid of almost all the imperfection on the surface like the oxidation of painted surfaces and also technical imperfections. Using regular water and soap method, in the long run, destroy this surface polish. Therefore, it should be done by annually.

While the hand can be used for polishing, a quality buffer is recommended. The advantage of using the buffer is that the surfaces are evenly polished. Using the hand also requires pressure application which can be very tiring activity. Keeping the paint in good condition ensures it requires less frequent polishing.

Glazing, an optical step in the detailing process is important in adding a layer of gloss. That is if it is done professionally. It also increases the paint thickness. As a result, it fills up where there are minor imperfections. Caution should always be taken to prevent the waxes and sealants from being washed off. The glazing can be done based on the needs of the vehicles owner.

The glaze should be done only on a vehicle that has gone through the above process and it has been done properly. For the glaze to be uniform, the black finishing pad is best for use. Since glazing is done once and more than one layer cannot be used, for maximum performance a single coat is enough.

Other important car detailing procedures include coating, layering, waxing, microfiber care and wheel and tire care. The glass should also not be forgotten.
