How To Maximize Your Product Promotion Effort

By Jennifer Wood

The world we live in is a world immersed in business. It drives the economy of nations. The activities associated with it is a varied as the human population. These profit making ventures targets consumer markets and employs different marketing strategies. The most familiar and traditional is by way of advertising. In itself this strategy is done in many ways and has many forms. The most classic is the stationary billboard. Technological developments created the vinyl and with it came the idea of mobile advertising. Companies can now have their vehicles covered with ads done by MN Custom Vehicle Wraps.

Before the development and widespread use of the automobile, rail companies were the pioneer of having their name and logos painted on locomotives. Then plastic was invented which brought about experiment in using it for wrapping with lettering and graphics. This did not prosper as the material was too delicate. However, this changed with the invention of vinyl.

Vinyl lettering first came into production when a manufacturer was engaged to produce a film for the purpose of covering a car instead of painting it. The first mobile advertisement was that of a soda pop company which used vinyl to cover a bus promoting its product. It did not take long for other businesses to follow. Soon the method was used everywhere and even small businesses and individuals followed suit.

New processes and procedures have led to improvement in plastic quality. New and more versatile vinyl were developed for auto covers. New notions like bubble preventing channels came into fore. Application and reapplication no long became a hindrance as advances in adhesives. Heat guns and other heating tools are employed to make the wrap conform to the contour of the vehicle.

Not all automobile wrappings are for advertisements. Some individuals like to have their own identity molded into their cars. We can see this in cars with owners faces on the hood and fabulous bodywork complemented by decals. Some decals are even see through to enable occupants to view the outside. Decals are mostly applied on the sides of automobiles.

The sporting world also adopted this technology as seen in races. Teams have their race cars wrapped with sponsor logos and names. This is seen very often in a stock car and formula one racing, proof positive of its wide application and customization. Other sport also has their official team bus covered with team graphics, name, and logo.

The vehicle wrapping process has four phases. The first is the consultation phase where the service provider will inspect the vehicles, get measurements, and conceptualize the design. The next step is the design stage where graphics are laid out. Then follows the production phase in which the graphic art is printed and laminated to protect the vinyl from scratches and ultraviolet rays. The final stage is the actual installation when the material is wrapped to the vehicle.

Basically, there are just two type of this technology, the whole body wrap, and the partial body wrap. As the words imply, it is just exactly what is. The difference is primarily because of financial consideration. Both types are installed using the same process, only the amount of the surface affected makes up for the difference. All these are done inside installation garages.

There is a study that mobile advertising is the most cost effective method of promoting a product. If it is used for personal purposes to improve the overall beauty of the car, it can be customized using digitally printed covering which cannot be replicated by standard methods like traditional or airbrush painting. Vehicles with more curvatures are difficult and more expensive to cover.
